Just yesterday it was exposed that the USDA has been needlessly killing thousands of kittens. in unnecessary, cruel experiments. I’ve reviewed all of the documents obtained in a Freedom of Information Act request, which state that for the last 35 years, the USDA has been breeding and killing kittens even though nearly all of them are healthy, treatable, and adoptable. What they’re doing is breeding up to 100 kittens annually, raising them until they’re 2 months old, and then feeding them raw meat infested with the toxoplasmosis parasite. They’re then harvesting the feces from the kittens for 2 to 3 weeks so that the feces can be used in other experiments. They then barbarically kill the kittens before they’re three months old and incinerate the bodies. So you’re hearing that right. The USDA uses kittens as nothing more than a petri dish to grow toxoplasmosis infestations, then kills the kittens. They’re intentionally bringing kittens into the world just to treat them like a test tube, then discard their bodies like trash. 100 a year for 35 years. And keep in mind: toxoplasmosis is a completely treatable condition. This is a parasite. It’s easily treated with antibiotics and it’s totally manageable. These kittens could easily be given medical support and adopted out into loving homes. But instead, the USDA kills them by injecting euthanasia solution directly into their hearts. Even their own records state that only 3 percent of the cats are actually symptomatic for toxoplasmosis. And that, quote, “Cats fed Toxoplasmosa-infected tissues usually do not become sick.” So the kittens are merely a convenient breeding ground for the parasite. And that’s why they breed them, infect them, and kill them. Here are some of the kittens from the laboratory. These are kittens just like the ones so many of us dedicate our time and resources to saving. These are kittens just like the ones so many of us have adopted into our homes, who are our companions, who are our friends. These kittens are right at the age that their lives should be beginning, not ending. They’re instead needlessly being killed using our taxpayer dollars. This is an outrage. I’m calling on all of you to help end this. Visit USDAstinks.com to find out more information and to send a letter to your congressperson. You can also call the USDA directly at 202-720-3656 and urge them to end the deadly kitten experiments. And to treat and adopt out the cats in the lab, not kill them. Please do this today. This is unacceptable and we have the power to stop the killing.
